U of G scientist joins Order of Canada

DNA BarcodeGUELPH — Paul Hebert, the University of Guelph biologist who pioneered the global DNA barcoding project, has been awarded the Order of Canada.
Hebert, an evolutionary biologist, and professor of integrative biology, is one of 11 new officers to Order of Canada named on Canada Day. The honour comes just weeks after Hebert’s research on species identification through DNA sampling received $3.5 million in new provincial funding.
