The government of Kashmir has rejected wide-scale DNA testing of bodies in thousands of unmarked graves despite pleas by the families of those who disappeared during two decades of fighting in the restive region.

SHAH ALAM (Sept 5, 2012): Malaysia will have an independent world-class forensic laboratory, the first of its kind in the region, in five years.
The lab, to be located at Universiti Teknologi Mara’s (UiTM) Institute of Forensic Science, is in affiliation with the University Medicine, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany.

Crime commission discuss collection of DNA evidence in sexual assaults, cigarette trafficking

RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) — Today inside the General Assembly, the Virginia State Crime Commission took up several issues, including the collection of forensics in sex crimes and illegal cigarette trafficking.
The commission heard concerns surrounding the collection of DNA evidence in sexual assault cases. Senate Bill 205 was first introduced this year during the General Assembly’s regular session but was unresolved, eventually making its way in front of the crime commission.
